Dale Pfeiffer

Dale Pfeiffer has had a career in international development spanning 32 years, working predominantly for the Agency for International Development as both a Foreign Service Officer and as a contract employee. His career has included assignments in various positions focused on program development and management in Africa, South Asia, Southeast Asia and Europe.

His most recent assignments related to post-conflict period in the Balkans. In 1999 as the war ended, he oversaw the establishment of the Kosovo's assistance program. He later returned as the program's Director in 2002 and retired in 2004. During the interval in these assignments he served as the Senior Advisor for Southeast Europe in the U.S. Mission to the European Union in Brussels where he acted as liaison for USAID with the European Union and with the Stability Pact for Southeast Europe. His other assignments have involved him is such diverse assistance programs as Vietnam, Kenya, Somalia, Afghanistan (pre-war), India, Zimbabwe and all of the southern Africa countries where he oversaw regional assistance to the Southern Africa Development Conference.

Mr. Pfeiffer studied political science and international relations at Rutgers and Michigan State Universities and economics at the Foreign Service Institute. He is a member of the board of the Kosovo American Education Fund, which he initiated in 2004. He now lives in Paris and Brittany.
