Ryan Evans sat down at the India Club in London with Alexander Meleagrou-Hitchens and John Amble. Over gin-and-tonic and Famous Grouse (they didn't have Jameson), Ryan asked them about their field research in East Africa on Al Shabaab and Islamist militancy in East Africa. Alexander is a fellow at the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation and Political Violence and John Amble is one of the founders of Global Torchlight. Both are PhD Candidates at King’s College London.

Ryan Evans sat down in London with Dr. Thomas Rid and Tim Stevens to talk about cyber war. Rid and Stevens are both scholars on the subject. In this episode, Rid the previews the arguments of his forthcoming book, Cyber War Will Not Take Place (Hurst & Co, April 2013). Stevens discusses his book, Cyberspace and the State: Toward a Strategy for Cyber-Power (Routledge, 2012), written with David Betz, and talks about the cultural and social dimensions of what we call cybersecurity.
