Steven J. Nider

Steven J. Nider is senior advisor at the Center for National Policy (CNP). Prior to joining CNP, he served as director of congressional affairs at the congressionally mandated Project on National Security Reform and was a senior fellow at the Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress. Nider has written on various aspects of US foreign and national security policy. He began his career at the Democratic Leadership Council before moving to the Progressive Policy Institute (PPI), where he served as foreign policy analyst and chaired the institute's defense working group. He has served as director of foreign and security studies at PPI and was a contributing editor to Blueprint: Ideas for a New Century. He also worked as an analyst at Hicks & Associates, Inc., a defense and intelligence policy and analysis subsidiary of SAIC.
